RAQS AL-ASSAYA - SAIDI FOLKLORE Stick classes & workshop with Sonia
ABOUT SONIA Sonia fell in love with dance from a very young age. She studied ballet and jazz. Rooted in her Tunisian heritage, she first taught salsa and belly dance for 15 years. She crossed paths with Maëlle in 2013, and she has been dancing with her ever since. Always eager to grow, she completed the rigorous Salimpour program, earning level 2 certification in both the Suhaila and Jamila formats. This training also led her to join the European troupe of the renowned Bal Anat show. For her, dance is above all a moment of sharing and connection. Sonia is now also studying to become an Art Therapist.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Passionate about folklore, Sonia is excited to share the energy, technique, and “martial art” character of this discipline. Come feel the bouncy, infectious rhythm of Saïdi, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere!
No prerequisits, all levels are welcome.
Sticks will be available but bring your own if you have one. We will be working with straight sticks as in Tahtib, not canes with a curved ending.
